A groundbreaking ceremony for phase one – a gas station and convenience store – was held on August 13. Located at the southeast corner of Lake Park Drive and Soboba Road, the 19+ acre center will feature 60,000 square feet of retail space.

Tribal officials declined requests for interviews via spokesman Mike Hiles, instead referring a reporter to recent press releases.The Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians, by way of its Soboba Economic Development Corporation, has begun construction for the Sovovatum Village, a retail center that will serve as a gateway to greet all visitors to the Soboba Casino Resort and the reservation. More recently, crews have been at work on such details as moving in furniture, tiling the pool area and providing landscaping.

Soboba Casino Resort is about to open, here’s how it’s honoring the past and looking aheadĭuring the summer months, the resort spent time painting the exterior of the building in shades of beige and earth tones putting down flooring and adding electrical power, according to news release put out over that time.

Inside the hotel rooms, planned amenities include high-speed internet, in-room safes, refrigerators, Krupp coffee machines and 55-inch TVs. Though early plans for the casino included garage parking, the garage is no longer part of the plan. It will be on 37.5 acres of land and will include the hotel, a 140,000-square-foot casino, 2,000 ground parking spaces, a noodle restaurant, food court, 24-hour cafe and coffee shop. The tribe broke ground on the casino site - about a mile from where the current casino stands in San Jacinto - in 2017.

The Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians is getting closer to the completion of its brand new 200-room hotel and casino site with an announcement that it plans to open in the third week of February.
